SASHA & THE SHADES TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE – ‘Wait & Pray’

Sasha & The Shades continue their rapid-fire series of autumn singles with the  spirited, optimistic belter ‘Wait & Pray‘.

A perfect showcase for Sasha Adamczewski‘s distinctively gravel-edged gospel vocals, the song comes from the rawer, bluesier end of the London six-piece’s repertoire, nailed down by a monstrous groove courtesy of their enviously sleek rhythm section.

Recorded by Sean Read (Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Manic Street Preachers, Edwyn Collins) at his Famous Times studios in the UK capital, the track’s message is that good things do indeed come to those who wait.

It’s about not giving yourself the time to self-doubt,” says Sasha, “and it’s also about how important and difficult that is to the experience and journey of being a musician.

As with each of their current run of singles, it’s backed by a flipside counterpart in the spirit of an old-school 7″ release, the equally expansive and anthemic B-side ‘The Sun‘, which deals with a period of confusion and family problems in Sasha‘s life during his brother’s addiction to heroin.

With a list of influences that takes in everything from The Ramones and AC/DC to Ry Cooder and Screaming Jay Hawkins, Sasha & The Shades recently piqued the blogosphere’s attention with the eerie folk-infused single ‘Echoes‘, premiered by Americana, and featured in Gigslutz, God Is In The TV, and Muzak Review among others.

‘WAIT & PRAY’ – THE LATEST SINGLE FROM SASHA & THE SHADES – WILL BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 4, AND IS AVAILABLE TO LISTEN TO NOW EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH THE MUZAK REVIEW FACEBOOK AND TWITTER PAGES.

TRIDENT WATERS UNVEIL NEW SINGLE AHEAD OF EP RELEASE

Trident Waters band photo

Hitting your senses, and coming at you like the offspring of a whisky-drenched Led Zeppelin and Hawkwind, the infectious groove and contagious riffery of Trident Waters are sure to ignite.

On June 7, the London trio will release their new EP, ‘Hollywood To Vegas‘, but in the meantime, they have brought out one of the tracks from this, ‘Eva Lane‘, accompanied by a video.

Having formed in 2014, the three-piece – comprising of vocalist/guitarist Andrew Knightley, bassist Wilson Zaidan, and drummer Greg Zaka – have dispatched an engrossing alternative rock sound underpinned by edgy blues rock, inspired by the likes of Rival Sons, John Lee Hooker, Winery Dogs, Albert King, and Joe Bonamassa.

The band are steadily picking up new fans, and have already extensively played throughout the UK, sharing stages with such legends of their genre as Michael Schenker, Hawkwind, Shark Island, and Procol Harum.

In the over-saturated rock world, not many bands have the capability and musicianship to stand out from the crowd, but the trio achieve this very feat by playing passionate, powerful, hook-laden tracks, enabling them to blaze a trail that leaves many of their contemporaries in their wake.

Having previously self-released an EP, 2016’s ‘Tales Of Conflict & Devotion‘,and an album, 2017’s ‘Seven‘, the groundwork is now in place for Trident Waters to propel themselves to the vanguard of the UK rock scene, and with their new EP promising to be the three-piece’s most accomplished work to date, 2019 looks set to be a monumental year for the band.

One of the festival’s founders, and this year’s organiser, Kris Graham-Martin says: “When I started this event at the age of 16, it was hard to be taken seriously by any bands or venues at one point. For the first few years, it was difficult to find our feet and find our layout as it currently stands today. I’d say one of the biggest nightmare these days is co-ordinating announcements and organising 70+ artists. With all its challenges though, it’s still one of my most favourite events to organise every year!

EMERGING MIDLANDS ALT-ROCKERS SONDER REVEAL NEW SINGLE

Sonder band photo

Emerging alternative rockers Sonder plan to break from the underground with the release of their mesmerising new single, ‘A Wicked Place’. This mouth-watering track takes from everyone from Nirvana and Biffy Clyro, to Arcane Roots and Basement, and the single can now be accessed via all key platforms and services.

Formed in late 2016 in Staffordshire, Sonder have formed an engrossing sound that mixes the grit of grunge, meshed with colossal guitar riffs and pop sensibilities.

Bursting onto the scene last year with their debut EP, ‘Papered Cracks’, the band soon earned a reputation for delivering highly energetic shows; such praise saw the foursome pick up a run of shows with Fangclub, Fizzy Blood, Sick Joy, and The Fallen State.

The band continued their climb this August with the release of the first single, taken from their forthcoming untitled EP, out in January 2019, and the track, entitled ‘Karma’, was happily backed by a headline slot at Birmingham’s O2 Academy.

Sonder push on again with their new single, ‘A Wicked Place’. Vocalist and guitarist, Kraig Fallows, talks about the track: “‘A Wicked Place’ is the second single from our upcoming new EP. It is about dealing with depression and anxiety. It’s about trying to pretend everything is fine, whether you’re convincing yourself or others, and struggling to deal with the smallest things and being scared to ask for help. The track is influenced by my own personal battles.”

SCOTTISH BLUES ROCKERS THE HOWLING LORDS DROP NEW VIDEO AHEAD OF SECOND ALBUM RELEASE

The Howling Lords band photo

Scottish hard-edged dirty blues-rock trio The Howling Lords have just set loose the new video for the track, ‘Black Dog’, which has been picked from their forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Texas Medicine’, out via all platforms on Friday 30th November.

Expressing a guttural, dirty garage rock sound with heavy riff-laden tracks evoking everyone from The Black Keys and Queens Of the Stone Age, to The Who and Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Howling Lords are primed to break by the end of this year.

Born in late 2015, and hailing from the Isle of Lewis in Scotland, a windswept and salt-blasted rock on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, The Howling Lords have a steely grit and determination to persistently expand their horizons – this trio are not bound by any geographical complexities.

The band are prolific live performers, playing and hosting gigs throughout Scotland, and embarking on a series of self-organised tours across the UK. From busking on the streets of Portugal, to entertaining crowds at some of Scotland’s best-loved music festivals, this three-piece are going from strength to strength, and making it look easy.

Besides possessing a hearty appetite for playing live and touring, The Howling Lords also have an impressive recording pedigree. Their first single, 2016’s ‘Bad For Me’, and self-titled debut album, which was released last year, both racked up strong support and praise.

Last year’s ‘Dead Letters’ EP also earned the band further plaudits, and helped pave the way for the group’s impending sophomore album.

The band are now geared up for the release of their explosive new album, ‘Texas Medicine’. Featuring ten cuts of intoxicating whiskey-soaked blues and gritty rock that exemplifies just why so many are latching onto the band, this album captivates and pulls in the listener from the get-go.

The high-flying trio will be announcing a UK tour for next spring, so be sure to hit up their socials for details.

PSYCHEDELIC ROCK QUARTET DESERT CLOUDS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM

Desert Clouds band photo

With a diverse and broad spectrum of influences sweeping from Leonard Cohen to Black Sabbath, and from The Doors to Soundgarden, Desert Clouds pull you in and wash you over with their own brand of atmospheric alternative rock. The band release their engulfing new album, ‘Nothing Beyond The Cage’, on Friday 18th January.

Desert Clouds were originally formed back in 2008 in Naples, Italy. They broadened their horizons in 2010 by permanently moving to London, and soon began to forge their sound.

The band unfortunately suffered a change in personnel, and the psychedelic rockers struggled with recruiting permanent members. It took some time, but they pulled it together to create last year’s ‘Time Distortions’ EP, and everything began to shift for the four-piece.

The EP made its mark, firmly placing the band on the map, and it was quickly followed by two singles earlier this year, ‘Speed of Light’ and ‘Under Tons’. The releases helped set the stage for Desert Clouds to finally break out on a national level.

The atmospheric grunge crew now have the perfect ammunition to propel themselves to the masses. ‘Nothing Beyond The Cage’, the crew’s highly intriguing concept album, ideally showcases the band’s songwriting ability and deftness for creating moody and all-consuming psychedelic rock.

The Londoners comment about the theme of the album: “‘Nothing Beyond The Cage’ is an introspective journey throughout an imaginary universe where the Spirit gets stuck into Space-Time’s distortion, until it eventually gets rid of all the constrictions that used to cage it.

Desert Clouds will tour throughout the UK in January, as well as playing a host of shows in their native Italy. Tour and show announcements will soon follow.
