WE ARE THE CATALYST TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE & VIDEO

We Are The Catalyst band photo

Hugely engaging heavy rock crew We Are The Catalyst continue their surge with the release of their new video single, ‘One More Day’, to be released on 23rd June.

Formed in November of 2012, the Swedish outfit have been described as many things, from alternative metal and emotional rock, to electronic rock, or even pop metal. Members Cat Fey, Kenny Boufadene, Joni Kaartinen and Håkan Strind spent years together touring with their former band, One Without, providing the group a bedrock and steady foundation. Utilising their skills and experience garnered from their previous incarnation, the band hit the ground with real purpose and released their debut album, ‘Monuments’, in the autumn of 2014.

Released worldwide by Ferocity Records, it eclipsed all expectations; the record hit harder, soared higher, and cut deeper than anticipated. The band played their debut show the following March and the alt-metallers embarked on a ten-day tour of China. WATC were specially invited to perform at the prestigious Sound of the Xity in Beijing, also, they played some stand-alone shows, including a set at China’s biggest music festival, Strawberry Festival, in Shanghai, where the band headlined the Planet Stage.

In June 2015, the four-piece won first prize in a competition organised by Metal Hammer, Bloodstock and the Dutch symphonic metal band Delain; the prize was to perform at Bloodstock Open Air, alongside bands such as Trivium, Sabaton, Within Temptation and more, as well as opening for Delain at their Birmingham show on their UK tour. This all coincided with WATC undertaking their first UK headline tour of thirteen shows throughout October and November. Due to the success of these dates, the four-piece returned to the UK for the third time that year, now headlining the second stage at the festival Planet Rockstock, sharing the stage with bands such as The Darkness, FM and Rival Sons.

With a growing and dedicated fan base in tow, the rising metal crew started work on their sophomore album last year. Entitled ‘Elevation’, the band released the record last September to much acclaim. The album marked a darker, heavier and more emotional direction while still maintaining WATC’s trademark melodically modern sound.

Having just surpassed one million plays on Spotify, with a new album in the works, and a new video single set to drop, We Are The Catalyst are without doubt set to grow and take the world by storm!

‘ONE MORE DAY’, THE NEW SINGLE FROM WE ARE THE CATALYST, WILL BE RELEASED ON JUNE 23.

DREAM AWAKE TO RELEASE SOPHOMORE EP AND TOUR IRELAND THIS SUMMER

Dream Awake band photo

Formidable melodic metalcore outfit Dream Awake are to release their stunning
sophomore EP ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’, on Friday 18th August. The hotly-tipped quintet have also just premiered their new single ‘Mind’s Eye’ with New Noise Magazine.

Tugging from the layered intensity of In Hearts Wake, and the heaviness and atmospherics of The Amity Affliction and Northlane, Dream Awake pull from their predecessors and have refined their own compelling sound that is fierce, dynamic, forceful, and utterly engaging.

Formed in 2014 and hailing from Belfast, the band wanted to create a sound
that brought together the heavy and technical qualities of the genre, but also offered the listener something fresh that they could more tangibly feel and access.

After reshaping their initial set and drafting in additional members, the Northern Irish five-piece have more than fulfilled their early manifesto. The melodic metalcorers dropped their debut single, ‘Burdens’, at the end of 2014, before going on to release their first EP, ‘Pathfinder’. The release helped the band to pick up press recognition, key support slots and prominent festival appearances.

To date, Dream Awake have shared stages with Napoleon and Carcer City, as well as playing prestigious festivals such as Download and Sunflowerfest.

For their upcoming EP, Dream Awake went to work with highly regarded producer, Daniel Kerr of Avenue Studios (Our Hollow Our Home, Create To Inspire, Shields). The release, entitled ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’, features five engrossing cuts and a guest appearance from Wes Thompson/Napoleon. The record is jam packed with juggernaut guitars, dual-attacking vocals and blast-beat rhythms that will pummel the listener into submission from the get-go.

With this and a forthcoming Irish tour lined up, Dream Awake are poised to transcend from the underground.

SCOTTISH METALCORE COMBO THE WEIGHT OF ATLAS RETURN WITH NEW VIDEO SINGLE

The Weight Of Atlas band photo

Scottish metalcore combo The Weight Of Atlas have returned with a formidable new
video single, entitled ‘The Art Of Letting Go’.

The Weight Of Atlas are a talented post-hardcore quintet who deliver monstrous riffs, contagious refrains, and ambient interludes that are framed with orchestral nuances.

The inventive riff slingers, offering a unique and diverse take on the metalcore label, tower over the pack, possessing an astute ability to adeptly fuse and combine genres.

The band extract influence from a host of areas, from the ferocity of Devil Wears Prada and the shimmering atmospherics and potency of Deftones, through to the guile of Underoath.

In 2015, American label We Are Triumphant snapped up the band and released their
debut EP, ‘Reflections’. The release announced their arrival and garnered much
critical praise, as well as shaping a hugely active fan base that genuinely supports and interacts with the band.

The five-piece have worked tirelessly to support the EP on the road, where crowds have consistently been blown away by their sheer intensity and raw power.

Now, they have unveiled their new video single, which is taken from their forthcoming debut album, which will be released later this year. ‘The Art Of Letting Go’ is a powerful statement and charts the outfit’s maturity and growth.

With touring in the UK and Europe planned for the latter part of the year, 2017 will be the band’s breakout year.

SEASONAL PREPARE TO ‘BLOOM’ FOR THEIR DEBUT EP

Seasonal band photo

Surrey pop-rock newcomers Seasonal are pleased to announce their debut five-track EP ‘Bloom’, set for self-release this Friday. With the title chosen to represent the new beginning for the quartet, vocalist/bassist Matt Truseler gives an insight into it’s content: “Lyrically, we take a very honest approach. The songs on this EP are all about personal experiences from our lives and feelings. We wanted to avoid having songs with generic lyrics that although anyone could relate to, do not have a personal connection to us: a balance between, what is relatable for the listener, without losing the meaning of each track for us.”

The band are now streaming lead single ‘Certainty’, with Truseler saying: “The song is about the balance in a relationship where compromise may no longer be an option, but you keep going back for more; the realisation that it isn’t really working and having to be the person to bring up the flaws and break it off. It’s a track that shows a lot of the dynamic in our sound, and the first on the EP, so works well as a stepping off point.”

With a line-up completed by guitarists Max O’Neill and Alex Coombes and drummer Alex Tickner, Seasonal formed as a trio last year, later recruiting Alex on the strength of demos. With the line-up complete, they pushed on with writing more material, but agreed that “something was not quite selling us“.
Continuing to experiment, a change of tuning and the writing of debut track ‘Sevens’
made for a winning combo and from this process, their moniker was plucked:
The name of the band really just came from the change in the attitude and way we approached the project, like a change in the seasons,” summaries Truseler.
Once happy with their repertoire, nine months had passed and the band headed into the studio with the intention of recording just one track with Oz Craggs at Hidden Track in Folkestone. However, upon hearing the first mix, they were inspired to dive in, going on to lay down all of the tracks that became ‘Bloom’. “Oz is really easy to work with and was completely on the same page about how we wanted to sound and the effort he puts in to making that happen is awesome. We really took our time writing this record and we couldn’t be happier with how it came out“, the band enthuse.
The result is an emotionally weathered offering of heartfelt pop rock, reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World, Deaf Havana and Taking Back Sunday. Noting influences from both the ‘old’ and the ‘new’, they feel the acts they adore have shaped their sound, but that they offer something different: “Surrey has a really diverse scene with some amazingly talented bands of many different genres. But we don’t feel that many bands around here, or the UK, are doing the same thing as us at the moment; whether they are a bit more low-fi or balls out pop punk. We think our sound can appeal to fans of many different genres, but we are definitely within a scene still, just looking to bring something a bit different.”
Now with their first show under their belts, a date supporting Seaway in London,
the band are looking to blossom on the road: “It was a great reintroduction to playing live music for all of us, and definitely lit a fire. We are looking forward to getting out and playing these songs to as many people as possible.”

HAMPSHIRE ROCKERS THE BLACK BULLETS UNVEIL NEW VIDEO SINGLE ‘MOCKINGBIRD’

The Black Bullets band photo

Devil’s children are hard to find. Music walks amongst the mist, hearing
the damned and demonic, where only the living fall. In the night, walk the
strangers, an admission of nocturnal salvation.”

The Black Bullets, described as “no holds barred, uncompromising, larger
than life, hydrogen toxic gypsy punk n rollers“, are five bastard children from hell, locked together to produce the filthiest rock ‘n’ roll to penetrate human ears.

In a world festooned with glossed-up half-baked celebrities and pretenders, The Black Bullets are the real deal; they live, breathe, and consume rock ‘n’ roll 24 hours a day.  Raising hell ever since 2012, the Hampshire five-some have suffered high and lows. When their original singer went off to LA to marry a rock star, leaving the band stranded with a slew of shows to honour, the rock crew battled through and enlisted new recruit, Billy T on vocals, who has more than filled the void ever since.

Like a hurricane, with every hurdle thrown in their path, the Basingstoke outfit forge through and keep on moving forward. To date, the band have released a glut of EPs to much underground acclaim, most notably 2013’s ‘Bullet Through Your Heart’, 2015’s ‘Bulletproof’ and last year’s ‘Bombshell’ EP. The hellraisers have also toured throughout Europe, sharing stages with The Anti Nowhere League, UK Subs, Vibrators, Warrior Soul, The Main Grains, and more recently, Love / Hate, Lita Ford, LA Guns, and Michael Monroe.

The Black Bullets are currently taking their party to Europe and they attack the UK this Spring and Summer with further sweat-drenched shows and festival slots. For a full list of live dates, head on over to https://www.facebook.com/TheBlackBulletsUK/

Loaded with a blistering new track and video, it’s evident that there’s just nothing stopping this band from spreading their seed to the masses.

SAINT APACHE’S NEW EP SET FOR RELEASE IN JULY

Saint Apache band photo

Saint Apache are a highly intriguing angular alt-rock quartet hailing from Eastbourne, England. Pulling from an array of influences, ranging from the venom of Every Time I Die, to the swagger of Buckcherry, and the political potency of Rage Against The Machine, the south-coasters churn out compelling monolithic guitar riffs, distorted bass, hard-hitting drums, and an aggressive gritty edge, served up by Thom Meredith’s super charged vocals.

Formed in 2015, and already widely noted for their raw, in-your-face, and captivating sound, Saint Apache have an army of dedicated followers. With a huge desire for touring and playing as many shows as possible, the rising riff slingers have carved out a hefty reputation for themselves for their intense live shows.

As well as making strong in-roads on the live scene, the energetic alt-rockers are also making waves for their recorded work. In 2016, they released their self-titled debut EP, which helped to place the foursome on the map, notching up warm praise from the underground.

Now, Saint Apache are set to blow everything out of the water, with the release of their sophomore EP, ‘Wolf Machine’, which arrives this summer.

Compressing four chucks of highly engaging full-frontal alternative rock, the band’s new EP is a true benchmark. Instantly, ‘You’re Not A Slave’ blasts into your ears with its spiky rhythms and twisted phrasing, pinning the listener into submission, while their new video single, ‘The Story Doesn’t End Here’ is simply overflowing with infectious groove, whiplash riffery, and slamming thrusts of vigorous edgy rock.

The pace increases in velocity for ‘Halfway Dead’ as, washing over you, the track delivers a full-on adrenaline-fueled shot of raw ETID-esque punk that stomps and pounds all over your senses.

The EP’s namesake, ‘Wolf Machine’, finishes off the record in supreme style, striking you with hammer-jack blows right from the very first bar.

Plug in and soak it up; Saint Apache have arrived and they will not go quietly.

‘WOLF MACHINE’, THE SECOND EP FROM SAINT APACHE, WILL BE RELEASED ON JULY 21.
