CALIFORNIAN ALT-ROCK DUO SATELLITE CITI ANNOUNCE DEBUT EP AND UNVEIL NEW VIDEO

Satellite Citi band photo

Satellite Citi are an alt-rock two piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. Anna Gevorkian (vocals/drums) and Shaunt Sulahian (guitars/backing vocals) are successful in pushing forth elements of multiple genres to create a truly unique and dynamic realm of sound.

Combining Gevorkian’s melodic vocals and funk rock drumming style with Sulahian’s dynamic guitars and background in heavy metal, Satellite Citi resurrect the rock genre with a fresh and modern delivery.

Formed in 2015, the name Satellite Citi derived from the notion of a city where people communicate thoughts through their satellite minds. After working on previous solo projects, the duo realised their future of collaborating together.

They teamed up with famed rock producer, Brad Wood (Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins) in creating their upcoming debut EP, ‘Negative Space’. It is inspired by topics which motivate them lyrically, from societal issues and corruption of politics, to battling internal demons and struggling to find solace.

Gevorkian reveals, “The underlying theme in our music would be overcoming negative energy, hence the EP title, Negative Space. We want our music to encourage people to stand up when they’ve fallen.

Despite ‘Negative Space’ being a raw, rock n’ roll EP filled with relentless energy and growling guitars, it thematically features sensitive and introspective subject matters.

Leading single ‘Undead’ showcases the band’s use of composing music to bring people together and help those in a time of need.

The inspiring music video for this single, directed by Powell Robinson and Patrick Young, follows a despondent LBGTQ youth after they have been thrown out of their home and constantly harassed by their peers. The video takes an unexpected turn and shows Satellite Citi joining forces with the youth and defeating every metaphor in their path, united as a team.

With memorable melodies and a contagious chorus, ‘Undead’ hits listeners with a punch of energy and exudes just the right amount of edge. It’s a relentless song, shimmering with intensity.

‘NEGATIVE SPACE’, THE DEBUT EP FROM SATELLITE CITI, WILL BE RELEASED IN JANUARY 2018.

FLORIDA INDIE ROCKERS GLASS HOUSE POINT ANNOUNCE NEW EP & PROMO TOUR

Glass House Point band photo

Florida indie rock band Glass House Point have officially announced the release of their upcoming EP, ‘Midnight Appetite’ and a corresponding promotional tour for early November, aptly titled ‘The Midnight Appetite Tour’.

The band’s sound is centered around a four-piece lineup backed by crisp harmonies, synths, and string ensembles. Overall, the sound is sophisticated, yet untamed — a quite beautiful contradiction.

‘Midnight Appetite’ follows the release of two late summer singles – the Spotify hit ‘Creatures’ and its powerful follow up, ‘Polaris’, both of which are featured on the upcoming EP.

About their new music, the band states:

Our new music is, collectively, more thematic and focused than anything we’ve ever done. It’s us introducing what we have become and debuting ourselves on a bigger stage.”

Glass House Point are an indie-rock band hailing from the tropics of central Florida: a place riddled with abundant sunshine and torrential rainfall. The outfit formed during the particularly stormy summer of 2013 and has since cultivated a sound that completely defies the expectations of East Coast music culture.

Ambient swell and soothings lulls puts their music into a category of its own: a category that has yet to be explored by today’s indie artists. The band’s past ventures include extensive US tours and the release last year of their debut record, ‘Love Lives in Dark Places’.

Most recently, the Tampa quartet has recorded their sophomore EP with Grammy-nominated engineer & producer, Aaron Gandia.

Glass House Point recently embarked on the ‘Think Fast; It’s Gone’ tour. ‘Midnight Appetite’ is available on all streaming platforms on October 27th.

High-flying Over To You are all set to close up 2017 with their new video single, ‘Storm Chasing’, taken from their forthcoming EP, ‘S.O.S’. The energetic trio have a clear focus and a hearty affection for gritty punk.

Pulling inspiration from the likes of early Green Day, Sum 41 and The Story So Far, the Bristolians cunningly weave infectious melodies and harmonies with gripping hooks and hard-hitting punk to stunning effect.

Formed in 2014 in a student house, the band wasted no time in cutting their teeth on the scene by playing a host of local shows.

After a cluster of highly successful regional performances, the three-piece continued their ascent with the release of their killer debut EP, ‘Ideal Lives’, which began their hectic, widespread touring career.

Along the way, the DIY punks impressed the right promoters who snatched the opportunity to get the lads on the same bills as Muskets, River Becomes Ocean and The Bottom Line.

With a growing reputation for delivering an explosive live performance, the hard-working punk rockers have greatly expanded their fan base and appetite to be heard.

‘Storm Chasing’, the outfit’s new single, is a burly slice of engulfing melodic punk served with a killer hook that will devour you whole.

With the forthcoming release of the trio’s second EP, ‘S.O.S’, and several UK dates already confirmed, as well as a northern UK tour in the works, the closing months of 2017 are sure to set the Bristol boys up for an exciting 2018 you really don’t want to miss.

HUNGARIAN PUNK ROCKERS THE HELLFREAKS UNVEIL A NEW VIDEO

The Hellfreaks band photo

A new tradition seems to have come alive around The Hellfreaks. After ‘Burn The Horizon’, the Hungarian punk rock four-piece have unveiled a new video, ‘I’m Away’, taken from last year’s critically acclaimed third album ‘Astoria’.

This latest offering was made by Mihaszna Film, and filmed in various countries. An interesting fact about the video is that it was financed partly based on the support on their fans, through a campaign on indiegogo.

The band expressed their gratitude by providing their supporters with such merch and relics as frontman Shakey Sue’s corsette, which she wore for ‘Boogieman’, a video that has so far had almost five million views.

Besides venues in their native country, the team also went to Croatia to shoot some of the scenes. ‘I’m Away’ is about a feeling of trying to find your own way in life, which sometimes means leaving your previous life behind.

The track’s lyrics were based on Shakey Sue’s personal experiences, before settling in Budapest, she grew up in Vienna, and also lived in Berlin for several years.

The quartet do not think it is their duty to tell you what the right thing to do is to feel at home in the world, they are just trying to urge you through the visuals and lyrics to make you think twice before making a big decision.

LONDON NEWCOMERS MID REFLECTION TO RELEASE DEBUT EP IN NOVEMBER

Mid Reflection band photo

Born in 2016, Mid Reflection are a potent London-based quartet, who have taken in the key fundamentals of punk, rap and ska to produce a unique and distinctly British sound.

The crew fuse a fast and gritty flow of heartfelt and hard-hitting lyrics typically found in rap and grime, with dark and moody guitar driven rock music, and the end result is a sound that truly defies classification in traditional genres.

With an array of influences spanning from Linkin Park, Sublime, Gorillaz and House of Pain, the four-piece’s sound is as original as it is captivating.

Expressing introspective and raw lyrical themes and real life struggles such as bullying, depression and betrayed friendship that vocalist Matthew Bishop, aka “2T’z”, has battled through in his life, their work becomes even more honest and accessible.

To date, Mid Reflection have played a glut of successful shows across London and the South East, racking up supports alongside the likes of Imperial Leisure, New Town Kings and Karl Phillips.

The outfit soon release their explosive debut EP, ‘Outcast’, which lands everywhere on 24th November.
